A meeting was held on March 19, 2008 at Chatham Acres. The meeting opened at 6:35pm. Members present were Patricia Dufour, Jo Ann Ewing, Monica Kangley, Judie Bobbi, Laurie Izzo and Sue Weintraub, Town Council Liaison. Stacy Brown was absent.
Minutes:
A motion was made by Ms. Kangley to accept the Minutes of February 20th. Ms. Ewing seconded. Motion carried.
Bills and Communication:
There will be a Public Finance Outlook Conference put on by the State Treasurer on March 28th. Ms. Bobbi and Ms. Dufour plan on attending.
Ms. Bobbi sent thank you to the Knights of Columbus for the Spaghetti Supper and the Fish Fry.
The Chairman sent a letter to the Town Council Chairman regarding the PILOT that the Housing Authority pays to the Town. Ms. Weintraub reported that Ms. Engel has asked acting Town Manager, Bob Drewry to contact us with any questions. The Housing Authority may be asked to attend a Council meeting on this topic.
Cash Report:
Ms. Bobbi presented the Cash Report for February 2008. Ms. Ewing made a motion to approve. Ms. Kangley seconded. Motion carried.
Old Business and New Business:
Ms. Bobbi reported on the recent series of vacancies that we are experiencing. Four of the five are being filled by April 1st and we hope to have the last one filled before the end of April.
Ms. Bobbi asked for a discussion by the Board regarding an applicant with poor credit due to family circumstances. The Board discussed and agreed they would consider the use of a cosigner if he or she agreed to a credit check and the lease would be looked at after the year to see if it would be renewed.
There was a brief discussion with Ms. Weintraub and the Board about kinds of affordable housing the Board would like to see developed.
Ms. Kangley made a motion to adjourn at 7:13pm. Ms. Ewing seconded.
